I wrote this because I kept noticing how much of what patriarchy asks of women goes unquestioned, a name, a ritual, calculating whether it's safe to get home alone at night. Women's safety in India isn't just what happens on the street, it's everything we're taught to manage before we even leave the house. This is my honest attempt to connect those everyday moments to the bigger reckoning happening in India right now.
