About Us

Hi, I’m Amritha (Amy), the voice behind The Morning Brew, a travel blog sharing destination guides, hotel recommendations, accommodation reviews, and family travel experiences from around the world. What began as coffee-fuelled thoughts has grown into a space where I document meaningful travel, cultural experiences, and stays that are worth recommending.

On The Morning Brew, I publish honest travel guides, hotel and resort stays, city itineraries, floating village experiences, and food discoveries, with a focus on family-friendly travel, responsible tourism, and practical travel planning. I aim to help readers choose the right destinations and accommodations while experiencing places beyond the usual tourist highlights.

Our Story

I once read that coffee is the fuel for life’s engine, igniting creativity and passion. Every morning, as I wait for my brew, random thoughts pour in, some with purpose, others just wandering. Standing by my vibrant scarlet coffee machine, I often wish I could gather all those thoughts in one place.

So, here I am, at a point in life where I’ve decided to channel all that scattered energy into something constructive. I knew I was juggling too much while procrastinating about where to start. Before I became a dull, passionless version of myself, I realized it was time to leverage my love for travel, meeting inspiring people, exploring new culinary delights, and having refreshing conversations. Now, I'm putting it all into words, sharing my inspirations, and candidly recounting my life’s adventures.

After seven captivating years in Dubai, I finally took the plunge in September 2019. I swapped my comfortable, salaried life for a new adventure in the Netherlands. Now, I’m based in The Hague, juggling life as a travel blogger, homemaker, classical dance enthusiast, and full-time mom. It’s a chaotic mix, but one I’m truly grateful for.

Growing up, I was lucky to explore a myriad of beautiful countries with my parents, whether it was sailing from one nation to another, hopping on trains across India, or taking overnight bus rides to my grandparents’. My parents instilled in me a natural curiosity for discovering new places. As they say, the best education happens outside the four walls of a classroom, and my adventure-seeking sailor dad took that very seriously. I spent my childhood aboard ships, navigating through different lands with my thrill-loving mom and little sister (who’s not so little anymore).

Life got even better when my childhood love, travel partner, best friend, and the yin to my yang, my husband Siddharth (Sidd), joined me on this journey.

At 22, Sidd and I took our first self-funded trip to Bangkok, and since then, we’ve ticked off 50+ countries from our travel list. We’ve roamed the Middle East and now, with our kids in tow, we’re soaking up every bit of Europe. We travel wildly, we travel with love, and we’re building memories to cherish when life slows down, and we’re still as golden as ever.

The greatest joys of my life? My children, Kiu and Arya, they’re the perfect culmination of this beautiful journey. Looking at my past, present, and future, I wouldn’t change a thing. There’s nothing more precious than sharing these moments and experiences with my family. For those million-dollar smiles and the joy in their hearts, I’ll keep exploring new places, finding the little joys, and living for them.
